    General Info Needed

    Hello,
I am researching for my mother who was just diagnosed this week. She is having serious cognitive issues so I want to get her good info. But I don't recognize drug names, acronyms, etc. at this point. Is there a site where I could get a good basic education on the drugs available and perhaps comparisons? Thank you

    www.nationalmssociety.org

There is great information online and they will also send you magazines, pamplets, DVDs, etc free of charge.

Here is a good starting point, from this link you can click on "treatments" to find out about the different DMDs (disease-modifying drugs) but there are many other things to click on as well.

      Ask questions anytime!

The national ms society (NMSS) website is really good, I found a download on all the medications which described them, listed side effects, etc. and that was helpful in deciding on my first disease modifying drug (DMD).

As for acronyms, I'm not sure where this is on this forum, but most of the the stuff on the NMSS site does not use them.

Good luck, and please ask any questions you may have here, many good people to help you and your mom.

Thank you, I was on the NMSS site last night, but there is so much info, I guess I didn't make it to the right section yet. I will head back now.

Take a look at MS World's new Resource Center!
            http://resourcecenter.msworld.org/

I agree with you that the MS Society's website has a lot of information! Perhaps our resource center will help you focus your search.

            Be well,
