    Does Medicare pay for LDN?

I will be getting Medicare soon. I spoke to Skip's Pharmacy about getting re-imbursed for LDN. They had no clue. Has anyone had any luck with this? Is there a Medicare drug program that is more likely to do this?

I can not imagine any Insurance paying for LDN since it is very far off label, but the cost is low.

      Hi Nance,
i am recently posting in this site but have been reading for a few years. i am on 4.5 mg capsules of LDN, started 2 years ago with 3 mg's. I don't know about Medicare but my insurance doesn't even recognize it. If I was a heroin addict, they would recognize it at 50 mg's. But then, it would be used more as an emergency medicine. At low dose, i take it every night, before bed. I have seen at least 3 different MD's and until I found my current 'integrative' MD, I couldn't find anyone who knew what LDN was ! I don't know what you know about this, but it has to be 'compounded' specifically for you by a 'compounding ' pharmacy. And ,I understand, the pharmacy should have some experience doing this. I have read about some people that did not get the desired effect from the drug bought from an inexperienced pharmacy. I don't know how much credibility I give to that story. I pay for my LDN out of pocket. Good Luck

It ranges between $15 and $38 for a month's supply.

Note: Be sure your compounding pharmacy does not give you slow-release LDN. Apparently some local compounding pharmacies have been doing that, and that form will not work for MS. You need to have your daily dose all at one time.
