Tracy's Service Dog

I have had a very difficult time dealing with my MS. I have no family or support system, which has left me very much afraid and alone. Until one day, I was doing some reading and saw stories of dogs being trained to help people with MS. I have been involved with training dogs for years.
I decided to look into a Service Dog for help and companionship. I found an organization that was training Great Danes and I applied for a dog. I did get one assigned to me but we didn't seem to get the bond that was needed. I was feeling very lonely again when I saw a woman at the vet's office with Dobermans. Dobermans were my very first love of owning a dog and when I lost my Doberman 25 years ago I could never bring myself to get another one.
But I started talking to the woman about her dogs and I told her that I had MS and would love to find a dog I could train to be my Service Dog. She told me she may have a 2-year-old male that was the love of her life but when you show dogs and keep more than one male, they sometimes fight. She was having a hard time letting her favorite and first champion go.
After many hours of talking, she decided to let me meet Sergio. We seemed to bond right away. After two weeks, we had a bond that was inseparable. I started training Sergio but he always seemed to know what to do.
He knows before I do if my legs are going to give out and will push me to sit down. One day he kept gently putting his nose on my left calf. After three days, I went to the doctor because I noticed swelling in that leg. I was rushed to the hospital with a large blood clot. That's what he was trying to tell me for three days.
Sergio coming into my life was a gift I had needed in the worst way, because I was giving up.
We have been together for two years now. We have flown to CA, FL and a few other spots. Because he is a Doberman and most people do not understand dogs are used other than for helping the blind we have had to try to educate many people.
