A Child's Silent Scream

Printer-friendly version
by:
Kathy Whitson, aka MtyOP, mtymac413

A push then a pull
and their world's torn apart.

Quiet is the pain in a young child's heart.

The quivering bottom lip, they let go a silent scream,
which remains the only sign a child can give
when the fear brings them pains.

She pushes, you pull and still their silent tears fall.

Someone to be there- to play with- someone to hug.

Is it to much to ask for when the child
gives you a tug?

No easy answers too complicated to explain,

all they understand is that their world's gone insane.

Mommy and Daddy going their separate ways.

Innocence is gone, too early for their days

Love them and hold them tight,

maybe the scars won't run too deep.

You can't change their future,

I can only watch, hug and weep.
